I haven’t done any tutorials for AS (Action script) 3 yet, but I thought it was about time I did. This is a very simple tutorial that will determine which key is being pressed. Obviously you must have Flash CS3.
First of all open a new flash document.
Open the actions panel (F9 or Window>Actions) and enter the following code.
For some reason the main page displays the really old one from the original free host AwestyProductions was hosted on. That means you won’t be able to see this post. But if you can, congratulations.
The server changing is over. I moved to DreamHost. If you are looking for a web host I recommend them. If you enter the promo code AWESTY67 you will get $67 off and 2 FREE domain registrations.
I am changing servers again, this time to DreamHost. If you can still see this page in a few days don’t come back to the site for 48 hours. After than the new host should show up. None of the comments you post from now to an hour or two will get recorded.
In this tutorial we will make a fluid width (which means it will resize depending on the size of the window and the screen resolution) web template with valid XHTML and valid CSS. So that means no tables, sorry guys .
You can see an example here. It looks best in Firefox, but it still works in IE. If you do not have firefox I strongly recommend you get it.
I get sick of writing tutorials all the time and the more I write the harder it becomes for me to think of a new one, especially on the first day back at school after the weekend. So I thought that every Monday I will put up a video that I thought was funny or cool to cheer up everyones day .
This video is amazing. It is one of the best stop motion videos I have ever seen.
In this tutorial you will learn how to make a wrap around effect, so when you character goes of one side of the stage it appears on the other side. I am using Adobe Flash CS3 for this tutorial, but Macromedia Flash 8 and Flash MX 2004 should work as well. If you are using Flash CS3 make sure you select a Flash Actionscript 2.0 document. I am assuming that you have a basic knowledge of flash so I won’t be going into to much detail about the Movieclips and other graphical stuff.
Here is an example of what we will be making.
Arrow Keys to move, Internet Explorer users will need to click on it for it to work.
