PS3 Determined to Beat the Wii

April 14th, 2007 by awesty

Sony are trying to make up for their slow start off in the market by bringing out a new accessory for the PlayStation 3, so they turned have turned to the Nintendo Wii’s controlling system and made it better. They have developed a VR/3-D controller.

VR PS3 Controller

Instead of just detecting movement and determining where you are in 2D, this controller and tell where you are in 3D space. Each finger in the glove has its own censor and each one can be used as a different function or can be used to grasp things. I am imagining future GTA games, where you actually get to pull the trigger. Side Scrolling games where you cant rely on the character to grab onto the edge of a platform if they slip, but you will have to grasp it yourself.
